She’s got the voice of an angel, dreamy blue eyes, and a allure of tenderness about her. All of which make Italian soprano Giorgia Fumanti unforgettable once you see – or hear – her!
From a young soloist in the church choir in Aulla, an 800-year-old spiritual gathering place located in romantic Tuscany, she studied voice at Italy’s esteemed Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito. (That was after she was a law student and yoga instructor!) She was soon catapulted to international stardom, reaching the top of charts Billboard’s Top 20 classical crossover chart – and #1 in Japan and South Africa!
Her powerful voice has filled vast Olympic stadiums. Unafraid to sing versatile material ranging from Puccini to Sting to Sarah MacLachlan, Giorgia says to her, singing is like a prayer for peace, hope, and love.
It’s no surprise, then, that Giorgia is an animal lover, who has adopted the vegetarian diet. On several occasions, she’s performed at Supreme Master TV events, singing the beautiful songs by Oscar & Emmy-winning composer Bill Conti and Grammy winner Bill Cunliffe, based on poetry by Supreme Master Ching Hai. At these events, Giorgia had the opportunity to taste the food that we catered. Loving the meat-free creations, she made a stop by One Veg World when she was in town, along with her adorable daughter.
So happy birthday, Giorgia! May you and your family be well, as we join you in praying for a world of peace, hope, and love for all precious lives.
